Authentic Jobs launches affiliate program, pays $75 per referral

April 21, 2008 in Advertiser

Ajaffiliate As I've mentioned before, WorkHappy is partnered with Authentic Jobs to help employers find top-flight web design and development talent, and to help that talent find work. I've used it several times myself to great success.

(You can see the job listing on the top of the sidebar on every page here on

Last week Authentic Jobs rolled out an affiliate program and they pay $75 if you refer an employer who makes a full time job post (or $25 for freelance posts).

Which is pretty juicy if you've got a website that might cater to this crowd.

The signup and management of this is just brilliant, incidentally. So simple and clean. Payments are made through PayPal and are paid instantly each time a referral listing is purchased. Take that complicated affiliate management programs!

p.s. they've also got a new API you can tie into with this for you technical types.

50% off Authentic Jobs posts till Jan 15th '08

December 31, 2007 in Advertiser

Looking back at 2007 I'd like to thank our primary sponsor and partner Authentic Jobs. I've used them a half-dozen times myself to find qualified candidates and they've always found me a great match.

If you're looking for some top talent to start off the new year, you can post your job between now and January 15th for 50% off the normal listing price by using the promo code HAPPY08 (and of course they still, and always have a money back guarantee).

And with that, here's wishing you a Happy New Year - thanks for reading and loving me in spite of my spotty posting (this being an entrepreneur stuff takes a lot of darn time).

Checking in on Authentic Jobs

July 10, 2007 in Advertiser

As mentioned before, has teamed with Authentic Jobs to provide a means for finding web designer or developer talent, or finding work yourself (see the upper right column on this site).

I gave it a try myself

The last few months have given me an opportunity to utilize AJ (Authentic Jobs) for my own purposes. I've advertised for a copywriter, a PHP developer, and a Flash animator.

The results:

  • Copywriter post: 10 responses, half were excellent, 2 were off the charts. The woman we hired should be the CEO of our company, she's superhumanly amazing.
  • Flash animator post: 38 responses, about 10 were stunning.
  • PHP developer post: 31 responses, most were solid including about 6 that just blew me away. The guy we hired absolutely rocks.

Some stats

AJ offers freelance and full time jobs. For fun, here's a quick run down of what's cooking on the full-time side as of today, July 10, 2007:

And a big thanks to Cameron Moll and Authentic Jobs for supporting

Authentic jobs

It's been unofficial for a while now, last month we made it official.

You may have noticed the jobs listing which has taken up residence at the top of the sidebar here on Because I saw it providing a useful service for those of you hunting for talent (been there!), and those of you hunting for web design/development work (been there!) -- I placed it on the site as a service (without compensation) for a couple months. Last month Authentic Jobs made me an honest man.

Authentic Jobs is a job board run by the highly influential web design trend-setter, Cameron Moll.  If you're looking for top web designer or web developer talent for your venture, a post here should hook you up.

To sweeten the pot, AJ offers a 100% money back guarantee (find the talent you need, or your money back). Which is a great reason to start your candidate search there. If that doesn't work out, you can reinvest on a competing board.

Postings cost $250 for full-time or $75 for freelance.

Here are a few fun success stories from other employers who have found success using the board.

Hiring If you're a web designer or developer, you probably already know about the board, but if not -- head over to see if your next gig awaits.

Here are a few recent postings:

Full Time:
Information Architect (Interaction - Experience Designer) at Los Angeles Times.
CSS Designer at SonyBMG Music Entertainment.
Sr. Rails Developer at JibJab Media Inc

Freelance Gigs:
Interactive Designer - Web2.0 at Mogulus
Flash Developer at Gifford Media

I hope you find this useful.
